Face Illumination and a Self Tanner that Smells Delicious? Read On!
Thanks to everyone who has joined my blog as a "follower". If you are interested, just scroll down to the side and follow the instructions! Today, I went to Sephora and picked up the Fekkai sample. It's a great set of deluxe size samples and - shout out to Sarah at the UTC Sephora - she was super helpful! Meanwhile, my awesome new Natura Bisse samples came, so I can't wait to start trying those out. Oh, and Sephora.com is back up, so I've been able to breathe a little easier now.
Don't laugh ... I tried the most amazing product that is going on the Must Have list! Anthony Logistics Self Tanner Moisturizer for Men. First off, who are these metro men who are self tanning? I couldn't get Kirt to stop laughing. He did notice the product was made in The Netherlands, however, and he expects they don't see a lot of sun. Anyway, the product smelled unbelievably fabulous! Like flowers and fruit. Definitely NOT a man-scent. I put it on last night (face only) and, not only did it feel like a great moisturizer, but it gave me a perfect tan in the morning. Even better than the Tan Towel, which I am now removing from the Must Have list. It never once turned smelly or yucky. It's $30 for 2 1/2 ounces - also cheaper than Tan Towel. The only issue I have now is that, when I went to buy it today, Sephora was out. Sarah recommended Clarins Self Tanning Gel. I didn't want to plunk down $42 on an untested product, especially when I was so happy with Anthony's, so Sarah hooked me up with a major sample and I put it on tonight. I'll let you know in the morning!
Meanwhile, the fabulous sample products continued. I used Erno Laszlo's Timeless Skin Age Preventative Treatment. It's unbelievably pricey at $98 for 1 ounce. Sometimes I don't understand how just one treatment can be sooooooo fabulous. The packet it comes with suggests studies showing wrinkle volume reduced by 36%. It talks about rebuilding collagen and restoring elasticity. All I know is that, while it felt a little strange at first (not quite a gel and not quite a liquid), it made my face look fabulous. It needs to be followed up with a moisturizer, so read on ...
The next product that blew me away and is also going on the Must Have list is Philosophy's Divine Illumination Skin Illuminating Moisturizer for Extraordianrily Ageless Skin. Again, sucked in by the "illumination" theory, I gave this one a shot. It felt nearly as good as the Chanel daily moisturizer and gave the same beauty. In fact, once I put this moisturizer on, I did not need a primer and my redness was reduced. My skin really was brighter! It was the result I was hoping for from the Estee Hydra Bright, but I got it with this terrific product. It's a definite do, even at $85 for 1.6 ounces.
Let's go back to a lip review I did earlier. This is a good lesson in "don't just a book by its cover." Remember the China herbal lip remedy I tried - Wei East Lip Remedy? I was kind of a diva about it only being available at HSN, but I did discover it is also available and www.weieast.com. Yet ANOTHER must have. I have been using it for over a week. What I noticed were, not only softer lips, but a change in my lip color (I think from the softness - a more gentle pink) and that my lips were actually fuller. So, I went to the website to see what the product is really supposed to do and, sure enough, it replenishes moisture, diminishes the fine lines and wrinkles around the lips, and makes the lips appear fuller. For the teeny tiny sum of $18 for 0.4 ounces (this amount would last at least 3 months, even if you used it every day), this is a MUST HAVE!
And just a little reminder for my fellow self-tanners who are new to the process. WASH YOUR
HANDS THOROUGHLY AFTER PRODUCT APPLICATION! I currently look like I spent the weekend with my palms up praying to the sun god. Seriously not attractive to have orange palms! Oh - and I did try the creepy almond exfoliator from CND on my legs and arms. It was definitely a tough exfoliant (much tougher than anything I have ever used), but it made everything feel soft and silky smooth.
