A Moisturizing Face Mask and a Few Must Misses!
Are you feeling the fever? The Super Bowl fever? :) I am! I am! But ... I am also feeling the need for a serious diva spa day. Is it just me or is all this new year's resolution stuff really taxing? I just want to go lay in a eucalyptus steam bath, get sea salt scrubbed, wrapped in warm herbal bath towels with a cucumber mask on my face and a deep tissue foot massage. Ahhh ... I feel better just thinking about it!
Well ... let's discuss a few beauty products. The first must miss of the Sephora treasures this year is their ridiculous Makeup Brush Cleansing Wipes. $9 for 20 sheets and they are a total waste of money. I was looking for an easier way to clean my brushes than the cleaner that has to wait to dry overnight. Well ... this is not the answer. There is barely any brush cleaner on these tissues, so they don't clean off anything! A definite must miss.
Then ... there is an interesting product I've been trying for a week now: Peter Thomas Roth Mega Rich Intensive Anti-Aging Cellular Moisturizing Masque. What's odd about it is that it is amazingly moisturizing. Normally, you take off a mask and you feel squeaky clean. With this one, you feel clean, but incredible moisture. I think this is a fantastic mask for aged skin or dry skin. I enjoyed it for sure!
I've also been using the Mega Rich Intensive Anti-Aging Cellular Cream. It's like any other anti-aging serum ... we'll never know, right? But I do like the way it feels. It soaks in quickly for day or night and is just enough moisture after the mask. This was a good little find of products. I'm really into face masks right now, too, given the recommendation of twice weekly. So, I'll keep you posted!
Lastly, I have been using DDF Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Face Wash. It doesn't exfoliate at all, so I think the only reason it says so is because it is doing it at a cellular level based on the Glycolic Acid. But it also doesn't take makeup off well, so I recommend it as your morning face wash if you want to give it a try. It smells a lot like black licorice, but it just didn't feel like it did that much for my skin in terms of either cleanliness or brightness. I have been unimpressed, thus far, with DDF's facial cleansers.
