An Odd Little Sampling of Face, Hair, Lips & Eyes from Your Daily Sample

Hello beauty bloggers! I know many of you are awaiting the weird sample trial of Chanel Estompe Taches Anti-Dark Spot Treatment. I must admit, I thought it would work instantly. Hmmmm. Imagine that! Moi expected instant gratification! Well. It's weird alright. I just used it on a couple of spots and I didn't notice a difference. I think I am supposed to use it all over, so I will try that tomorrow. It says it eliminates melanin synthesis at all levels. Hmmm,. It's a dark colored product, so I wonder how it will look when I put it all over my very fair complexion. This product is to be continued ...

Meanwhile, I did use Kinerase Extreme Lift Face Cream which, unfortunately, I loved. I got this great deluxe sample, but it's $150 at Nordstrom for just one tiny ounce! I put it on under my nighttime moisturizer and my face felt so soft and silky. My fine lines were definitely reduced, as well. What I really liked is that it instantly blended into the skin, so I felt totally comfortable putting a moisturizer on the top. There was NO stickiness or residue. According to the website, 84% of women reported smoother skin. I did before I even knew what to expect! Incidentally, they also have a similar product for eyes! I highly recommend a sample at your local Sephora.

On another note, I also used Orlane B21 Oligo Vitalizing Masque. What a terrible product! It totally felt like a basic moisturizer. It definitely wasn't a mask by any stretch of the imagination. It also felt sticky when I washed it off, instead of giving me a beautiful after-masque glow. A definite must miss!

I did use my masque while waiting 10 minutes for Clairol Root Touch Up to work. I was very disappointed with the Fekkai Hair Color, at least for blondes. I tried the root touch up just 3 weeks after the Fekkai color. Well, I don't like this product either. It was a waster of 10 minutes (20 when you put it all together) and it didn't even touch up the roots. Definitely still going with the Perfect 10 hair color for at home jobs.

A real winning product this week was my new Laura Geller Lip Strip. It's a very good size lip exfoliant. It smells great (actually tastes great) and makes your lips smooth and soft. The peppermint is very cooling too. The whole product is definitely better than the Smashbox Emulsion Lip Exfoliant I tried and returned. I definitely would NOT recommend either of these products after a day in the sun. However, my lips felt improved after just using it once. I'll let you know how it works over the long-run, especially with the Wei East Moisturizer.

My last product trial for report is Sephora Brand Doe-Eyed Liner in Brown. It definitely does not go on as smoothly as the MAC liner pen. But, the problem with the MAC product is it is only sold in black. Sometimes, you just don't want that harsh black. On the other hand, the brown from Sephora was too light of a brown, so I didn't care for it for that reason. It does come in green and blue, which might be fun for a different look. I need a darker espresso color... just a shade lighter than black. For $12, I'm returning it.
